Bangwa Fon Pays Maiden Visit To Fako

The Fon of Ndungated-Alou Subdivision, Lebialem, Foto Asongnia II, was given an exhilarating reception by his subjects on his maiden visit to Fako Division.
Fon Asongnia was received Saturday, January 12 at the Cameroon Opportunity Industrialisation Centre, COIC, Buea.In her welcome address, the Chairperson of Ndungated Community, Fako,
Chief Rebecca Fochapajong assured the Fon that the Ndungated community
is enjoying a convivial relationship with the indigenes of Fako.
She prayed for wisdom and understanding and the re-establishment of the Ndungated Cultural and Development Association which, according to her, could harness much potential to develop their Fondom.
For his part, the Fon promised unity and development of his Fondom, and assured his clansmen that he will create roads, bring electricity and potable water to the village.
He enjoined the elite of Ndungated-Alou to form a council of elders in their various townships, to uphold their culture and tradition.
He equally advised his subjects to build houses in the village, stating that any land that is left bare would be reallocated to those who are willing to develop them.The ceremony was graced by characterised by traditional dances and gun firing.
Fon Asongnia was crowned on February 25, 2006. Beyond being a Fon, he is studying dental therapy at Saint Louis Higher Medical Institute, Bamenda.The Fon was accompanied by his wife, Rose Asongnia, and a council of elders. Also in attendance was the Divisional Delegate for Secondary Education, Lebialem, Augustine Nkemawungong, Mayor of Alou, Prince Pierre Maric F.
